Professional Casino Gambling Tips - Roulette2006-10-25
Erana Hansen
The classic casino game of roulette is easy to understand and played by millions of casual punters around the world. Although it is a game of chance there are some ways to reduce the house edge and improve your chances of success.
Firstly there are no secret betting strategies to beat the game of Roulette. You may have heard or read about betting methods that you can use to win big. Unfortunately they are all total myths. There are no miracle betting strategies to beat Roulette. Also it is worth noting that previous outcomes have no influence and are no indication of future outcomes. Some people will tell you that land based casinos have wheels that are weighted or biased which will result in trends or patterns. This may have been possible in the past, but with the advances in technology and strict regulations in casinos today it simply doesn't happen. So do not worry about betting streaks as only probability wins over the long term. However there are some ways to keep the house edge to a minimum. The reason why the casinos have an edge is because of the 'zero' (0). The zero does not pay off any even money bets such as red/black or even/odd. So although betting on black seems like a 50/50 bet, in actual fact it is not because if the zero lands then both red and black lose. This house edge is doubled for American Roulette where there is a 'double zero' (00). So the strategy that you should employ when choosing a Roulette game is to only ever play a table with a single zero. You can further reduce the house edge by some wise table selection. In land based casinos you are limited to the rules of that casino, however when you play online you have the freedom to choose from a wide variety of Roulette variations. One of the best variations to play is actually European or French Roulette. In these variations they employ some different rules that actually favour the player. One is known as the "La Partage" rule where half of any even money bets are returned if a zero lands. This effectively halves the house edge, reducing it to only 1.3514%. Another rule is the "en prison" rule where if a player places an even money bet and a zero lands, then either half the bet is returned or the bet becomes imprisoned. If it wins on the next spin then the bet is returned without winnings, otherwise it is lost. Both of these rules are favourable to the player and should be taken advantage of wherever possible to reduce the house advantage. Online players are lucky to be able to easily choose from a wide variety of Roulette variations without having to leave home. Use this to your advantage to choose tables wisely to reduce the house edge and give yourself the best chance of winning! Ed note: Play roulette online at Casino-on-Net (888)!
