It took only 48 hours from listing before the reserve price of $125,000 was reached for Barry Bonds' record 715th home run ball.

The current owner of the ball listed it on Monday afternoon and 47 bids later, the reserve price was reached, meaning the ball will definitely be sold. The auction ends at August 3 at 3pm ET so Golden Palace Casino (eBay ID goldenpalacecasino) might not be the final purchaser, however it's clear they have their hearts set on this piece of sporting history.

The Bonds' Home Run Ball has quickly become the Most Watched Auction on eBay as 14,000 people are tracking the listing on their My eBay pages. Almost 300,000 people have viewed the item description page, at a rate of almost 50 views per minute.

Andrew Morbitzer was the lucky fan who caught the historic Home Run Ball at AT&T Park on May 28. Andrew and his wife Megan have pledged 10% of the proceeds of the auction to charity, specifically Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, which is a nice gesture from Andrew and his family.

There had been speculation prior to the auction that the ball could fetch up to a quarter of a million dollars and, at the current rate of fierce bidding, that figure could easily be reached, or even surpassed.
