21 – A Blackjack Card Counting Movie

One of the biggest movies of 2008 is about to hit theatres around the world – "21" stars Kevin Spacey, Kate Bosworth and Jim Sturgess and the official release date is 28 March.

21 is a Hollywood rendition of the best-selling book, Bringing Down the House. An MIT team of mathematics geniuses combine forces to win millions of dollars playing Blackjack in Las Vegas casinos.

The team of MIT students turns the tables on the casinos, putting the odds in their favor by perfecting a range of card-counting skills. Mentored by their professor (Kevin Spacey), the small group masters both the science of card-counting and the skill of counting as part of a team to avoid detection.

The game of Blackjack in casinos can be beat by mathematics, whereby the player keeps a running count of the deck, and raises his or her bets when the count is in the player's favor.

Flush with success, the team makes millions of dollars at the start of their adventure, only to run into some trouble with personality clashes, trust issues, and a determined casino security expert (Laurence Fishburne) who takes it upon himself to bust up their group and end their winning streak.
