Keno is a very simple game that is played by many people around the world. One of the reasons for its popularity is the consistency in rules and gameplay world-wide. It is a quick, fun game that can be played almost immediately after learning the rules.
The basic premise of Keno is the same as that of the Lottery. Choose some numbers, and if the numbers match the numbers that are drawn, you win. It is similar to Lotto where a player can wager a small amount and win a large payout in return. In Keno however, there are a few variations, such as a total of 80 numbers to select from. The player is also able to select how many numbers they play, with a minimum of 1-4 numbers (depending on the online casino) and a maximum of 10-20 numbers (depending on the online casino) to be chosen per game. The computer then draws a total of 20 numbers. The objective of the game is to choose as many numbers that match the numbers drawn, or to get as many "hits" as possible. How much you get paid is dependent on three factors: how much is wagered per game, how many numbers were selected, and how many numbers actually hit. In a basic sense, the more you wager and the more numbers you select, the higher the potential pay-out, but the smaller your chances of all numbers hitting. Minimum and maximum bets vary per casino, with the largest pay-offs for $1 being around the $50,000 mark in some casinos. Each round of a Keno game is referred to as a Keno Race, with many casinos offering Multi-Race Keno games where a number of Keno games are played concurrently.
